Things To Do

While visiting, we hope you’ll check out some of our favorite places and see why we love Sandusky.

We like to grab a DORA drink and walk the city. Most of the downtown DORA spots are within a short walk of each other along the waterfront.

If you don't know what DORA is, click here.

Our Favorite Spots Around Sandusky

Eat & Sip

Food & Drinks

Some of our go-to spots for date nights, drinks, good sandwiches, and a relaxed Sandusky vibe.

Date Night Favorite

Crush & Pedlars Alley

This is our go-to for date nights. We enjoy dinner and a stroll (now stroller) through Pedlars(spider) Alley.

A great stop if you want a fun dinner atmosphere downtown.

Beer Spot

Daly’s Pub

Great beer selection.

A solid casual stop for drinks and hanging out with friends.

Local Lunch

Great Lakes Grinders & Shoreline Park

Best sandwiches and a picnic view of Sandusky Bay.

Grab lunch, then head to Shoreline Park for one of the best waterfront views in town. (Eli loves playing at the playground at Shoreline Park)

Chill Vibe

Paddle Bar

Our favorite chill spot. Lemonade shakeups and a chill vibe.

Perfect for a casual stop if you want something fun and easy by the water. It's across the street from Shoreline Park. (Eli loves a lemonade-sprite and a play at the playground at Shoreline Park.)

Pizza

Cameo Pizza

Our go to pizza spot. Eli loves the pick bread pizza!

A nice option if you want some pizza.

Food, Drinks and a view

Dockside Cafe

One of our favorite spots when we have visitors. Great Drinks, great food and a view of the Sandusky Bay like no other.

A nice option if you want food and drinks. (Eli loves playing on the grass hill on the side)

Laura’s Favorite

Jax Bar

Laura’s favorite.

A great local stop for drinks and a laid-back evening out.

Cocktails

Volstead

Fancy cocktails and good for a small group.

A nice option if you want something a little more elevated.

Downtown Sandusky DORA

Sandusky has a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in the downtown waterfront district. This means you can purchase a drink from a participating bar or restaurant and enjoy it while walking around downtown.

Many of our favorite spots like Crush, Pedlars Alley, Daly's, Dockside, Jax Bar, and Volstead are inside the DORA area.

Just look for the special DORA cups and feel free to stroll along the waterfront, explore downtown shops, or enjoy the views of Sandusky Bay with a drink in hand.

It makes downtown a really fun and relaxed place to explore for the evening.
